Help and questions
Quick answers about making stickers, keeping your child’s drawing safe, and printed stickers. Can’t find what you need? Email us and a real person will reply.
Getting started
Is it free?
Yes. Making a sticker on screen and downloading it is free, and you don’t need to sign up. There’s a daily limit on free goes so the site stays quick for everyone. Goes that don’t work out are given back.
Printed stickers are coming soon. When they arrive, you’ll see the full price, including postage, before you pay.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts and no passwords. Your browser remembers which stickers are yours while you use the site.
What do I need?
A phone, tablet or computer with an up-to-date web browser, such as Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox. On a phone you can take the photo straight from the site.
Which drawings work best?
Bold drawings on plain paper, especially one animal, person or thing. Felt tips, crayons, pencils and paint all work. Busy scenes work too, but tiny details can get lost.
How do I take a good photo?
- Lay the drawing flat near a window, in daylight if you can.
- Hold the phone straight above it and keep it steady.
- Fill most of the screen with the drawing.
- Watch out for shadows from your hand or phone.
We’ll tell you if a photo looks too dark, blurry or small.
Can my child draw on the screen instead?
Yes. Tap “Draw here” and draw with a finger, stylus or mouse. You can also add a ready-made outline to colour in, or type words such as your child’s name. Big, bold shapes work best.
Your sticker
How long does it take?
Usually under a minute. Please keep the page open while we work.
Will it look like my child’s drawing?
That’s what we aim for. We keep the subject, shapes, colours and details, then tidy it into a polished sticker. If a drawing is all one colour, we colour it in.
AI isn’t perfect, so now and then it may miss a detail or add something small. If you’re not happy, try again: each go comes out a little differently.
Will it keep my child’s writing?
Yes. Names and words are copied letter for letter, spelt exactly the way your child wrote them, because that’s part of the charm. If a letter comes out wrong, try again.
Which styles can I choose?
Cartoon, clay, plush, 3D toy and watercolour. Start with any of them, then tap “Try another style” to see the same drawing in a different one.
How do I keep my sticker?
Tap “Download” to save it to your phone or computer. Please download any you want to keep before you close the page: as there are no accounts, we can’t send them to you later.
Why was my picture turned away?
Every picture gets an automatic safety check before we make anything (what we check for). Very occasionally the check gets it wrong. If you think it made a mistake, email us and a person will take a look.
If the message says we couldn’t check your picture just now, nothing is wrong with it. Just try again in a moment.
Can I make a sticker of a famous character?
You can make one on screen for fun, but we won’t print well-known characters, logos or club badges, because they belong to someone else. Characters your child has invented are perfect.
Should the photo include people?
Please photograph just the drawing, and keep faces, home addresses, phone numbers and school names out of it. First names are fine: name stickers are one of our favourite things to make.
Safety and privacy
Is it safe for my child to use?
Yes, with a grown-up nearby. There’s no chat, no typing to the AI, no public gallery and no ads, and every picture is checked automatically before anything is made. We suggest a grown-up takes the photo and does any ordering. More about safety.
What happens to the drawing?
We use it only to make your sticker. Only you can see it, we remove location details from photos, and we never sell it, show it publicly or use it to train AI.
While we test, we keep drawings until you ask us to delete them. Automatic deletion after 30 days is on its way. Read our privacy notice.
Does AI look at my child’s drawing?
Yes, that’s how the sticker is made. One AI service checks the drawing is safe and notes what’s in it, and another redraws it in sticker style. They’re specialist companies working under contracts that limit what they can do with your pictures. How it works, step by step.
People at Squigglestick only look at a picture if you ask us to help with it, or to sort out a problem with it.
Can you delete my drawing?
Yes. Email support@squigglestick.co.uk with “Privacy” in the subject. Tell us the day and roughly the time you made it, and what the drawing shows, and we’ll delete it.
Printed stickers
Printed stickers are coming soon. Here’s how they’ll work.
What will the stickers be like?
Each sticker is printed on matt vinyl and cut around the shape of the drawing, with a white border. It peels off a backing sheet about 7.5 × 10 cm (3 × 4 inches), and the sticker itself is up to about 6.5 cm wide.
How much will they cost?
You’ll see the price of each sticker and the postage in your basket before you pay. We’re not VAT registered, so there’s no VAT to add.
Can I order several?
Yes: up to 20 different designs in one order, and up to 20 copies of each. They all come in one envelope, with one postage charge.
Where do you deliver, and how long does it take?
To UK addresses only, for now. Each sticker is printed to order. Standard post usually arrives within 3 to 6 working days of ordering, and tracked delivery within 2 to 4.
How do I pay?
By card, on Stripe’s secure payment page. We never see your card number.
Can I cancel or return my order?
Because each sticker is made from your own drawing, you can’t return it just because you’ve changed your mind. If you spot a mistake, email us straight away: if we can still stop it before it’s printed, we’ll cancel it and refund you in full.
What if something’s wrong with my order?
If a sticker arrives damaged or misprinted, or isn’t what you ordered, email us within 30 days with a photo. We’ll reprint it or refund you, whichever you prefer. This doesn’t affect your legal rights.
If a problem on our side stops an order reaching our printer, we refund you in full automatically.
Are the stickers safe for young children?
Stickers are small and can be a choking hazard, so keep them away from children under 3. They aren’t made to go on skin.
Who prints them?
Our printing partner in the UK prints and posts them for us.
